WHY WE LOVE THEM
This peppery, crunchy vegetable is often used as an addition to salads. But with all of its health benefits, it’s time to give radishes a little bit more credit. Radishes are a very powerful detoxifying vegetable and can be used to lower bilirubin levels to prevent jaundice. They are also alkaline-forming which helps to keep the body’s pH level in check.
SELECTION + STORAGE
Choose radishes that are of moderate size, approximately the size of a golf or ping pong ball. Once home, wash the radishes and remove the greens from the top. Place the radishes in a plastic bag with a paper towel at the bottom and store in your refrigerator for up to a week.
FEAST ON RADISHES
When sliced, radishes make a great addition to any salad or sandwich. If you’re hesitant to give radishes a try, simply slice them very thin to add to your salad.
